Daegu Opera House will present Rigoletto on April 24–25 as Asia’s first opera jointly produced and distributed by South Korea and China, marking the Korea–China Year of Cultural Exchange. It is a collaboration between Daegu Opera House and China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
The performance will be co-directed by Davide Livermore, artistic director of Italy’s Teatro Nazionale di Genova, and Alessandra Premoli. The production will reinterpret the classical opera through an immersive stage design featuring large-scale LED panels and media art. Special seating options, including “View-Master” and “Focus” seats, will also be introduced to enhance audience immersion during the performance.
