As winter draws to a close, Daegu Opera House welcomes a season of unforgettable performances.
From Madama Butterfly toRigoletto, join us celebrating the artistry of opera this season.
1️⃣ la bohème - Review
The Poetry of Youth and Love
Daegu Opera House successfully hosted Gwangju Metropolitan Opera’s La Bohème on Jan. 30–31 as part of the Moonlight Alliance, drawing strong audience response. It delivered cinematic moments through its innovative use of AI-based art video, vividly recreating the streets of Paris’s Latin Quarter in snowing winter.
2️⃣ Spring Opera - Coming
Madama Butterfly is coming in March, one of Daegu Opera House’s signature productions that earned international acclaim last year at Estonia’s Saaremaa Opera Festival. The opera combines lyrical music with a tragic love story and is often called “the most beautiful opera in the world.”
In April, Rigoletto will be staged as part of the Korea–China Year of Mutual Cultural Exchange in a co-production between Daegu Opera House and China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts, directed by Davide Livermore and featuring an immersive LED-based media-art stage.
