1️⃣ DIOF This week : <264, That One Star>🌟

The fruits of Daegu Opera House's Creative Opera Association

It's the life of 264 (known as Prisoner Number 264, real name: Lee Won-rok),

a representative poet of the Korean independence movement during the Japanese colonial period.

This production is created and produced by Daegu Opera House.

Also, this masterpiece will be streamed by Operavision on December 13th.

2️⃣ DIOF Review : <Der Rosenkavalier>

Der Rosenkavalier beautifully bloomed the beginning of festival

After 30 years in Korea, Der Rosenkavalier returned to Daegu Opera House.

Despite the difficulty of Strauss, all cast was made up of Korean singers.

A special highlight of the opera is a trio sung by the sopranos with beautiful harmonies.

This production also was featured by Operawire.

3️⃣ DIOF Next : <I Vespri Siciliani>🔸

The aspire of the Sicilians for freedom and bloddy revenge!

Korea National Opera's I Vespri Siciliani by G. Verdi becomes the 4th main opera of the festival.

Based on the 1282 'Sicilian Vespers,' it depicts the Sicilians' struggle for independence from French rule.

Fabio Ceresa's acclaimed production features a striking orange and light blue color scheme.

4️⃣ DIOF Review : <Orlando Furioso>

Teatro Comunale di Ferrara perfectly marks the real Baroque Opera

Baroque opera is rare to experience, especially in Asia. Many global fans have flown to Daegu for this specialty. Celebrating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Italy, Ferrara showcased the essence of Baroque to audiences. Continuing international relations, Daegu Opera House is scheduled to perform its newest production, <Andrea Chénier>, in Ferrara next February.
