Greetings from Daegu Opera House. 🙌

A refreshing autumn breeze comes with the 21st Daegu International Opera Festival, featuring operas by A. Vivaldi, R. Strauss, and G. Verdi. Since its opening in 2003, Daegu Opera House has hosted annual opera festival, showcasing a diverse lineup of productions. We are excited to count down to the opening with you: D-1! 🎉

1️⃣ DIOF OPENING : <Der Rosenkavalier>🌹

The biggest hits from Strauss after Salome and Elektra

A Romantic comedy opera with waltz opens the curtain!

It's the love story of Octavian, a charming nobleman, and Sophie, the fiancée of a flirtatious baron.

Evan-Alexis Christ, professional conductor in Strauss, will conduct the music,

while the renowned tenor Zoran Todorovich will direct the production.

2️⃣ REVIEW : <Young Artist Concertante>

The young singers in the Opernstudio proved their growth in concertante.

featuring excerpts from G. Puccini's "La Bohème," which depicts the romantic lives of poor artists, and W.A. Mozart's "The Magic Flute," centered on a magical journey to find true love.

OPERNSTUDIO YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM

Opernstudio fosters young singers' development through professional training and performance opportunities at the Daegu Opera House. Last year, they performed "La Bohème" at Sofia Opera & Ballet, Bulgaria, with another invitation scheduled for January 2025 as well.

3️⃣ DIOF NEXT : <Orlando Furioso> 🇮🇹

Vivaldi's braoque opera premieres in South Korea

Co-production with Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, Italy

Based on Ludovico Ariosto's epic poem, Orlando Furioso is a Renaissance masterpiece.

It attracts audiences with rare countertenor and contralto voices.

Daegu Opera House has a strong relationship with Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, fostering international exchange through Don Giovanni in 2022, Turandot in 2023, and Orlando Furioso in 2024.
